I suppose it could work out after a certain point in terms of Mario Kart games, but having an editor with MK8 visuals I figure may be a bit hard. Either way, I'd probably not be so interested in that style of maker games.

Keep it in the hands of the pro's...... a racer needs a certain amount of though put into the track and fairness of it.

What makes Mario Maker work is that its a platformer, and you can scale the difficulty with it.
That does not apply to Mario Kart.

It would just be sub par raceing tracks, and less fun races overall.

IMO this is a stupid idea, and I cant think why anyone voted yes.

Really? If history has shown anything then it's that random users on the internet are pretty much better in everything than any developer. Art, design, programming, and they're faster at that.

Give the internet a Mario Kart Maker and you will have 24 tracks better than the originals within a few months.

"Professionals" don't know shit and they're bound by certain restrictions that free creators are not.

No, Mario Kart is way too complex. It's not like Mario Bros, which is 2D and where everything fits in simple squares.

I want a 2D Zelda maker. I will take that waaaaay before a Mario Kart maker.

Oh yeah, that sounds awesome. And it could work.

Yeah, I agree. But it simple to solve this problem. Make for creation mode a look from the top and place elements of rectangular shape that fit into each other. That way it is easy enough to edit, but the elements can be rendered 3D. This means some stuff made in Mario Kart 8 is not possible that way, but it gives enough freedom to create some interesting stuff.
