Or remove Bayo 2 and add the collection. Simple.

But they count individually for both systems. If GTA V came out on the Switch, and got a 90+, that score wouldn't be rendered null on a similar list due it having already released on the PS4/XBO/PC.

Yes, this is another thing about this list. Not only the number of reviews, as you mentioned, but the platform specific sites also play a role in different scores. MGS5 for example. The XBO MGS5 has a higher metascore than the the PS4 does. And this is despite the fact that the PS4 is home to the demonstrably superior version. I must be in a weird mood tonight, because talking meta isn't something I find particularly enjoyable most of the time.

At the end of the day, I don't think it can be denied that the Switch had an excellent 1st year. How it'll do the 2nd and beyond, we'll just have to wait and see.

Rayman legends got a 90 on xbox1 and ps4 also. So if you are going to include GTA twice, why not Rayman legends twice?

They didn't include Flowers a ps4 90+ game.

Along with including Bayonetta 2, and not just waiting a week when those games actually come out.

Plus including games like celest and shovel knights is a little weird.  Those games came out independent of the switch and just happened to release in the first year of the switch.

Where as Zelda/Mario/Mario all released on the first year of the switch on purpose.

Not to mention that a metacritic score means nothing.

Because they're separate consoles? Rayman Legends should be on both for sure, and Flower should be on PS4.

What's wrong with including Celeste? It came out in the first year of the Switch's life cycle. Shovel Knight is no more questionable than the many ports that the first year of Xbox One and PS4 had, and had the new DLC that launched.

Maybe instead of just insulting the thread you could have opened with this constructive criticism to improve the list? The entire purpose of this site is to discuss sales figures, meta data and compare consoles and games.

My objection is not to it being indie. But more than it just "happened" to release at this time.  Not really much of a minor objection, but just an observation. It feels weird to include a game that is on all systems. One that released at the exact same time simply because it happens to be the Switch first year.

By all means include it. Infact looking at the list we should probably add Retro City Rampage DX for the switch. It released in the first year and has a 91 score. It only has 5 reviews though so maybe that is why it was left off?

I just generally think the list is a mess. It has no consistency.

i fully agree. 

There are also a lot games in the 80-90 range that are awesome too. And have a way more impact than relatively obscure 90+ indie games.

though the general message that the thread conveys is that Switch had one hell of a first year. And in his opinion (and mine too), better than the first year of PS4/XB1.
