Sony are not just making money from home consoles in japan. They are raking in the cash on the mobile front too. Here is the january mobile chart for Japan.

I find it weird seeing Sony at the top of mobile charts, because they definitely don't come to mind as having a large presence in mobile apps. Is it mostly applications rather than games? Are they mostly japan only releases?

Fate GO is a giant hit in Japan and growing world wide with a korean, chinese and NA reléase, The japanese versión alone made a Billion dollars Last year.

It's from their Sony Music department. The different departments at Sony often work very separately from each other, sometimes even competing against each other. The Playstation division has nothing to do with this.

An incredibly volatile market, though. It's all about finding that next big hit. Speaking of which, it's kind of interesting that some people before were predicting Nintendo would soon dominate the mobile market in Japan but it's Sony that comes out of left field with a touchdown strike on a sudden fast break.

Damn, nice. I'm just glad I got her at NP1 xD
