never been a huge fan of Spyro, but if no games are coming out around the time it releases, then id pick it up just to pick it up. More excited for Medievil. Hopefully this ends up true though for the fans of the series

Having just played Tomba! 2, I feel a dual-pack of remasters would need a lot more work than what'd go into Medievil or the Spyro games - lots of dated concepts that might not be fixable without changing much of the core game!

I would agree, or I would argue, if I remembered anything that made it "dated" I played Tombi (the original) last in 2009, and it was perfectly fine for me then.

Tomba! 1 seems mostly harmless outside of some strange difficulty curve jumping and crap boss "fights" - 2, on the other hand, is INCREDIBLY dated, imo! Poor pacing; lots of filler; the 2.5D mechanics don't work as well as in the first game, due to the 3D graphics; the game becomes a Metroidvania lite but only out of  nowhere, after like five hours; so on and so forth. (I just did a review of the game a few days ago, so a ton of this is fresh in my mind!)

Remaking that one could certainly take a lot more time unless they do it spot for spot, and leave in all the problems!

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Thanks a lot! :3

Eh. Wasn't a fan of Spyro (or Crash, for that matter). It's cool that they're doing this, but I'll abstain.

What an overwhelmingly positive thread. Filled with love. It's been recommended to me by other members a few times. I'm with you two though. It was a really solid product. Played nice, looked good enough, and ran well. I just found it pretty generic and it didn't hold my interest for long at all. Doubt that would change 2 decades later.

The first remake I would actually buy despite already owning all the Spyro games. The problem being I think I lost Spyro 3, so I been missing it a lot.

Only played it a little so very much looking forward to this :)

Why are these titles referred to as "remasters", it's a disservice in my opinion. Every single thing is created from scratch.

Wind Waker HD is a remaster, Uncharted Collection is a remaster, Master Chief Collection is a remaster.

Crash/This is a remake.

Crash still uses the same core elements and its gameplay is for most unchanged.

The visusl quality can vary between Remasters, meaning some will look heaps better than others however the game is still the exact same as its orignal with a new coat of paint. Strip the paint away and there is the same game.

The Art and Graphical assets are created from scratch, making it a Remake. Although the core mechanics may seem 1:1 with the originals, they aren't. They're close, but not recycled (which is what would happen in the case of a Remaster).

So whats the difference between Crash N Sane Trilogy and Homeworld Remastered? Both look leaps and bounds better than there orignals and have minor gameplay changes yet one is clearly a Remaster.
