Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gears for Breakfast: "A Hat in Time is not coming to the Switch"

rn

I'm a little disappointed that this game will not be available for the switch. However, this behavior from the studio is not good. I know that they are probably tired of getting these responses daily. But that does not make it right for Gears to show unprofessional behavior for their main twitter account.

Damn i'm bad at speculation

This game never clicked with me, so no harm done for me. I know a lot of people like it but Odyssey scratched the 3D Platformer itch I had. I do wonder why it isn't coming. Engine imcompatibility? Specs (doubt it)? Really strange that they're acting this way. Maybe they have bad blood with Nintendo? Or more than likely, they're tired of people asking for Switch versions, which I can understand.

Shame, but it's not like they teased a Switch version or anything. Oh, well. there's always the chance of a port a couple of years into the future.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I am 100% with the Hat of time people. That wasn't even being rude. That is just being tired.
It seem various "fans" are taking port begging to the extreme.

If they want to release it, they will. I can't even imagine the constant harassment and such from entitle people demanding things like that.

Good for them.

The funny thing is the stereotypical response might end up begging the good ol' "We already have Odyssey, why would we want your stupid game!" That was the response for Yooka Laylee by the time it ended up coming out ...

I don't think there's anything wrong with "port begging", it just gets annoying when repeated. The point about having no obligation is really quite funny yet sad. We don't need to ask a dev every day. Besides, let's be honest, we all know this is coming to Switch eventually. It will be financially stupid not to port it. I just don't think it's happening in the near(10+ months) future.

I'm siding with the dev on this one. I've seen many a dev being hounded daily by tweets/facebook messages of "port it to Switch" being thrown around. This dev just flat out says no and all hell lets loose.

I find it rather amusing as to the answers that'll show up here, as the dev has had a history of being hounded for a Switch port, which I imagine will be ignored, and instead the devs responses being looked at more so than the people that were hounding him.

What else is amusing, are those who were siding with how kamiya responded to other gamers on multiple platforms and thinking that was A-ok, and this somehow isn't.

I've also noticed on some game Steam threads, that people are using those as a podium to ask devs to port the games over to Switch.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Also different degrees of port begging. "I love your game on the ps4, any chance of it coming to switch" is WIDELY different than someone screaming "SWITCH VERSION!".

Now multiply "SWITCH VERSION!" by X amount of times per day. Per week, Per Month. Per user.  I can absolutely see why someone would get terse from that.

Yep. I guess you could say that Jose Raul did that. But when he did that he got a much kinder response than the "unprofessional" ones from earlier. So in part this is clearly a case of etiquette, but also a case of annoyance and being tired of all the clamoring.

Shame. I want every indie on Switch. Oh well. I tend to avoid buying PC games even though I can perfectly play this game on my laptop. I tend to have a hierarchy on what games I buy on my list. Being on Switch really boosts your chances of being bought.

For a Hat in Time I want to get it but it is PC digital only. This puts it in a much lower position on my priority list. If they are lucky I will buy it by the end of the year or if they are unlucky I will never buy it at all.

I am the customer and there are a lot of games out there. I can only get so many. I have tons of games to buy and not having this one won't hurt much.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Kamiya used his personal account. Gears for Breakfast is letting their official account behave like this and it makes the studio as a who look unprofessional. Different situation.

Cant get everything. Also the Switch isn't exactly hurting in the platformer genre.
