Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch hacked by fail0verflow

Seems, the Switch got hacked by fail0verflow:

Do we see homebrew soon? Finally Netflix (in the browser)? Linux on the go?

EDIT: Umm, the forum-software automatically expands links to a tweet to display the tweet itself? Surprising.

Cool stuff. Dunno how much that means for running unsigned software.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Can we haz PSP and SNES emulatorz nou?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I am always in for using custom firmware for emulation! good stuff if its true the switch will be purchased in seconds

A Standard Tegra X1 will run a PSP emulator no problem, the CPU downclock from 1.9ghz to 1ghz in the Switch might pose a problem for PSP emulation, dunno.

PS1/N64 and below will definitely work though.

Linux is unsigned software, so it runs unsigned software. And if one software runs you can run everything else too.

There might be a problem to work with the GPU. Dunno how well the Tegra is supported by Linux-drivers.

I hate this guy...

Why do people always want Linux on everything anyways.

They don't. That's just the altruistic cover story. What they really want is a way to pirate games for the Switch.

The other favorite cover story for would-be pirates is "As a consumer I should be able to make an archival copy of my games to protect my legally purchased games/apps."  Same bulls**t, different twist.

Sorry, what? Much slower mobile SoCs than a downclocked Tegra X1 can handle the PPSSPP emulator in full speed (original PSP performance or better).
