No it would be asking a Japanese person if they feel Asian. Or a Filipino.

Yes thank you that has been pointed out already.  I see your are Candian, do you identify yourself as Canadian or American, or both?

I consider myself North American and Canadian. I feel closer to the USA than I do with Quebec. However, I did live in the USA for 4 years.

I must be foolish or naive, as this really did seem to me to be the single most, controversial-free poll a person could possibly come up with...

...out of curiosity - if you live in the UK and don't believe you're part of Europe, exactly what CONTINENT do you believe you are from?

England. The motherland of football.

You see, people from England have a god complex. If you know history, you will also know that the USA were founded by people who left England. This is why US-Americans crown themselves as world champions when they play national contests. The god complex is a part of the English DNA.

The NHL used to call the Stanley Cup the world championship, that was until the Soviet teams demanded they had a right to play for the Stanley Cup if it truly was to determine the world champion. They stopped doing it after that. On the other hand the NFL, NBA and MLB still call their champions world champions.

Well to be fair the NFL is literally the only professional league for that sport, so claiming to be world champions for winning it has some merit at least. The NBA and MLB, while those leagues are so far ahead of any other leagues in those sports that their champions probably would win any world championship tournament anyway, it's still pretty bad to make such an arrogant claim like that. I'd love to see another league rise up in those sports and to have a team thrash an NBA/MLB team in an exhibition game or something just to make their "world champion" claim look really stupid. Unfortunately that doesn't look like it will happen any time soon... if ever.

No country or league outside of the USA will ever be able to compete with the NFL. But why should the rest of the world care when there's rugby, a game so similar that there's no need to even bother adopting the American version. The Japanese baseball league is the clear number 2 in the world, and they are making their league better by getting Korean and Taiwanese players. But unfortunately there's no way the MLB would actually agree to a real World Series against the Japanese teams and if a Japanese team actually managed to win, the MLB would just claim that they won because none of their players took it seriously. Basketball is really the only American sport I could see becoming popular worldwide. China may have had a chance to build a major competitive league as the sport is popular there, but their leader Xi Jiping decided football was more important and so the resources are being put into the Chinese Super League, so that leaves the NBA as the only major basketball league.

Islander... in North America.

Damn you missed a continent, how? (Australian)

Arnold Schwarzenegger. Living proof that you don't need to be able to act to be an actor and that you don't need to know anything to become an American politician.

...so - ignorant politicians are found only in America? Or, are you just looking to continue to troll people from that particular country?

The most important aspect of good, down-home voyeurism, is remaining undetected, or at the very least, inconspicuous, but at the risk of ruining everything, I just have to say, I really do enjoy watching you two go at it.
