a) 5.5M is shipment to americas, meaning all of north ans south america

b) As almost usual, you glossed over the part where in many european countries the Switch sold as much during the holiday season as it did during all the months before, which means the console had a huge push there during he holidays and makes a million sales in that timeframe very easely possible.

Stop cherrypicking and quotemining please, it's unnerving having to deliver more and more facts just because you gloss over them all and dismiss them equally, no matter what proofs we show you

We hadn't had a report from Sony about their sales after december 31. I'm going to assume they didn't sell a single console in that timeframe now. Sounds ludicrous? It is, but that's just the kind of mindset you're bringing to the table here and we all have to debunk here

https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2018/180201_2e.pdf page 2 look for yourself, switch in north america is doing much better then europe. these are  sell through estimates by the way, the other stuff  just sounds like angry rambling. in the holidays its normal for a console to out sell all other months combined for that year.

https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2018/180131e.pdf last page; while those are shipments, others are mostly europe (and going by your previous comments which implied that ROW is less than 500k (otherwise the less than 13M ain't possible ffs), then shipments must be at about 4.6M minimum and the console was selling like hot cakes.

The holidays in continental Europe is mostly december, and that's where all the sales where. Hence why the sales in december took off as much as they did - and outsold the period of april through november there in many countries

Didnt try?

They have cut the price pretty much annually, they have released all of their big exclusive IP, they have paid for exclusivity for some really big franchises, they have released a redesign and an upgrade, they are now going to have all their IP available day 1 through Game Pass.....

They have tried their asses off.

Aside from slashing prices which all three companies do what else have they done? Thats right a whole lot of nothing.

Sony has shown time and time again that they are willing to be aggressive with their pricing when they need to.  No arguments there.  But Nintendo?? Really??

I didn't wanna talk about Nintendo because I know how worked up people over here get about them.  But you are talking about the company that didnt have any Blag Friday deals not even for their first party titles!.  The company the rode up a home console for four years with just ONE $50 price cut.

And I know that MS kind of deserves to be in this situation for the way they handled the console's launch, but saying that they haven't try is just unfair.  They have implemented Backwards compatibility (with the games actually running better than originally), Play Anywhere, and now the Games Pass.  Seriously, the only department they are lacking is in the Exclusives department.

i said 13 million is not possible if you only include NA/EU/JP with that info that we have, but you know what, it's time to move on, hopefully nintendo next sell through number will be very clear.

Yeah. Since the very beginning it looks like. I am now vindicated saying Sony has always controlled EU. Take that twitter people who tell me otherwise.

How did we manage to get 10+ pages of discussion about Nintendo switch sales?

Nintendo said 13 million sold consoles (to consumers) on feb 1 as of now. That means as of Feb 1 they have sold 13 million switchs. No ifs or buts.

I don't why some people are pulling random dates like 28 jan, 21 jan or 31 dec when nintendo said 13 million as of feb 1. There is no need for 10+ pages of discussion of this. Intill nintendo clarifies, the sell-through is 13 million as of 1 feb. No need to pull a lot of random numbers out of nowhere.

I'm glad ps4 is still doing good :) and hope it continues.

switch way over tracked, you guys really think that if switch was at 14 million already by the 13 of jan, nintendo would only anounce 13 million number jan 30.

Didn't you had a looooong ass conversation in the other thread? I believe it was Rol who posted something like the announced the Wii was at over 13mil, when it was actually around 13.8mil.

Yup, the XB1 dropped like a rock as predicted. Their problem is one that would take years to fix. And thats assuming they start now. Doing 80k weeks worldwide is just bad. Thats like saying they have a 350k average a month while nintendo and sony will be pushing like 1M a month.

I think the demise of the XB1 is more relevant than if the NS sold over 13M or 14M. The thing is already going to be a 50M plus selling console and probably in record time. The PS4 has hit every relevant milestone it needs to hit and is for sure going to hit the 100M one eventually.

Whats worthy of discussion here is the XB1.

I still think the XBO will reach about 55 million lifetime. Some people can say they are doomed all they want but it is rather impressive to sell that many consoles considering they didn't even try for half the gen

I would say it done well or OK when it Sells more than half of the amount of previous system. Failure is like the Wii U and Vita.

it was wii, it was 3 million in the US only, when it came out to be 3.8 million, but now it's different nintendo just announced 13 million, i would think  if there estimate showed 14 million, nintendo would have announced it, who know's though, well find out soon enough.
