Summer time or not, London will never have the same time as all of EU. Middle and Eastern Europe say hi.

They're not abolishing time zones.

Because it makes more sense. We're in the central European timezone due to politics, but the actual time here is a lot closer to the GMT.

My only problem is the winter morning hours.

It's gonna suck cause of the cold.

But i don't feel too strongly about it.

Why not change the UK to CET (Central European Time)? Wny must we change to UK time? We are on GMT +1 and not GMT, we have never been on GMT.

I get that, but I don’t understand why someone would willingly want to scrap an additional hour of light in the summertime...why would you want the sun to come up an hour earlier in summer and go down an hour earlier?

You got it wrong. Want they want to do is winter time all the time! Winter is not going to change, summer is.

CET was introduced by the Germans in 1940. The actual time here is GMT + 10-20 minutes.

They are not abolishing Time Zones, that will remain the same. 

UK and Portugal use GMT (currently GMT +1 on summer)

Central Europe and Spain use GMT +1 (currently GMT +2 on summer)

Eastern Europe uses GMT +2 (currently GMT +3 on summer)

 

The difference being that the time will remain the same throughout the whole year, there won't be adjustments in March and October. Which is a very nice decision if you ask me!

We could just get up an hour earlier. It doesn't make sense that the middle of the day for most people is at 3 or 4 PM.
