I hope this is true, not because I want a bunch of Switch exclusives - only because I really really want to see what the Kaz Hirai parody account has to say with a Ridge Racer 8 Switch-exclusive.

It can be a timed exclusive for all I care, I just want to see his reaction.

Didn't the Kaz Hirai account announce they would stop posting on Twitter in 2018 ?

Imho this is real, we hear LOTS of rumors pointing at Bamco developing MP4 and none of them were proven fake, I think we'll se some gameplay at E3 at this point but I still expect th game to come out in 2019

He said he'll do one more E3 and it'll be all over.

So I hope they announce it then.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Was anyone here seriously a fan of Ridge Racer? =P

It's about the most uninspired racing game franchise ever.

This is about the only time I saw someone show enthusiasm for the franchise:

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's nostalgia, but I like them nonetheless.

Eurogamer just confirmed story for Namco and Metroid, so it seems that hole stoty is true, including Ridge Racer 8 for Switch.

What? No it does not mean the whole story is true..

This staff member also listed themselves as overseeing work on an exclusive Ridge Racer 8 for Switch, too - something Eurogamer has yet to also verify."

I honestly think an external team would be a better fit for MP4 than Nintendo's own studios, as Retro aside, none of them really have experience in making a more serious sci-fi game.

Agreed, first person Metroid games should be handled by external teams and i'm optimistic about Namco possibly developing the game. But Nintendo should start creating 2D/2.5D Metroid games in-house because that's what Nintendo knows best.

Eurogamer have been spot on with some of their Switch news - though have also got things wrong. At this point I'd say it's a safe bet Prime 4 is in development at Namco-Bandai Singapore, a fairly safe bet that Ridge Racer 8 is Switch exclusives, too, given Namco-Bandai confirmed that they'd be announcing 3 Switch exclusives in Spring/Summer 2018. The question now, is, when will we get official confirmation? And what is the third exclusive?

That'd be a surprise, considering the last few Ridge Racer games seem to have been launch titles rather than being released later on.

Would they actually count Prime as 1 of their exclusives though? I took it to mean 3 of their OWN ip's.

Whose to say the new internal team aren't a good fit after all Retro were in the same position as a new team back with Prime.
