Pretty simple really. In the graphics department which game is more impressive? 

It's about artstyle. And in that department I choose BotW any day. It's the ghibli like look and feel I always wanted in a game, especially Zelda.

I hate BOTW's artstyle, the SOTC remake is beautiful.

Shadow of the Colossus and its not even close. The foliage, lighting, resolution and framerate are all superior and on top of it SOTC has incredible HDR that really pops out.

People saying Zelda is more graphically more impressive because of artstyle are deliberately spinning it into a Nintendo wins thing, when graphics are objectively better in SOTC. You can prefer either artstyle but that's not graphics, those are called visuals and graphics is a more technical term.

why is this even a question, SOTC is of course graphically superior, but i can see people preferring zelda for art style, but graphically SOTW is superior this is a fact.

I don't really care about graphical superiority, but if we're talking about the game's visual design and art style, that's a much more interesting topic. In that sense I think I do slightly prefer Shadow of the Colossus, but both games are beautifully designed. It's really just a matter of opinion at that point.
