Forums - Gaming Discussion - 4k vs VR - what is better ?

What is better in your opinion?

Playing a specific game in 4k or in VR? So for example Skyrim SE on PS4 Pro vs Skyrim VR

For me personally:

I would prefer VR. Beeing in the game and controlling my attacks with 1:1 motion is frickn bad ass. Im currently playing the dragonborn dlc in skyrim and im just blown away whats possible with todays technology. The inferior graphics quality dont bother me much. Actually, I dont think I would play any Elder Scrolls or even any WRPG without VR ever again, its such a inferior expierence in my opinion to just watching a game through basically a small window in your living room.

Im not impressed much with 4k in comparison to 1080p gaming in general. So very easy pick for me.

Resolution bumps are a given with each generation of consoles more capable than the last. VR has the potential to be a feasible and revolutionary way to play all our games. I think it’s better that companies like Sony are putting higher emphasis on it, since the technology is now more affordable and accessible than its ever been, and it really needs to start now so it can grow and evolve.

It's no real 8K! Real 8K is 7680 x 4320 = 33 MPixel

Panel resolution of the Pimax is 2 x 3840 x 2160 = 16 MPixel

And the maximal input it can handle is 2 x 2560 x 1440 = 7.4 MPixel

It's no real 8K

it uses 2 4k panels, 8k resolution in the horizontel but not vertical

4K makes more sense in VR. The gains on a screen are not that great.

VR is more fun. The ooh ah of pretty pictures is usually short lived, then you're concentrating on the game play again. Game play is better in VR.

Neither for me.

VR doesn't impress me atm, and 4k isn't doing much for me either (wake me up when we see 2-4k res textures with native 4k 60fps+).

As far as things go, 1440p 144fps is superior to me.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

4K. It can be used with any game or film/show while VR can't.
