Forums - General Discussion - Selling Plasma for extra money

What is your opinion on selling your Plasma to receive money? I think they give $70 for two donations (takes about 3 hours).

we don't get anything here for donating blood it's just a thing they ask the public to do for others.... (even though they have sold it to other countries more than a few times and been caught out for it)

But yeah if you're in need of money and are in an area where they will actually pay you to donate why not go for it? you'll feel run down for a few days after it and need to eat a bit of extra protein for your body to regenerate the blood but it will never cost you $70 for the food to recover so you'll have a bit of extra cash and your blood might go on to save a life of someone in a car accident or so it's win/win as long as you're okay with needles.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

My girlfriend does it regularly. She already did it 80 times and received about 1900€ in total.

Go for it. You help people in need and get a bit of extra cash for it. Also, where I live you get an extra day off from work, so its one awesome present

Donating plasma and donating blood is not the same. You can donate plasma every 3-4 days if you want. That's not possible with blood.
Also you won't feel nearly as weak afterwards, a few hours after donating - sure, but you won't notice it the next day.

Do you guys think there is long term side effects? One would think it could take a couple of years off of your life if you did it twice a week (the maximum) for years...

It's worth doing until the payments lower, wait a few then donate again.

If anything, giving blood has been proven to be healthy. Especially for a man. I'm going from memory, so if anybody wants to google **** me, feel free.

- I took a quick look and things look pretty good. I would imagine moderation is part of it. ha.

3 hours of my life are way more worth than that.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Sure, some people make more than 22 dollars an hour. They have promotions that are here and there, I believe the current one is 5 donations and $300 which would come to around $40 per donation. Then there is a possibility that you will have to report your earnings during tax season... which would either increase the amount you owe or it would decrease the amount you are receiving. At the same time someone can argue that they make more than $22 an hour, but they are only allowed to work 40 hours a week and they would like a little more income.... For myself, I am more worried about the health side effects. It is hard for me to reason that having a needle shoved in your arm and taking out vital fluid that one needs for survival is not detrimental to ones own health.
