Marvel Comic Legend Stan Lee Is Back Home After Health Scare

"I'm feeling great."

Marvel comics legend Stan Lee has been released from hospital following a health scare. The 95-year-old was rushed to Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday to be treated for shortness of breath and irregular heartbeat.

Lee is now home and spoke to ABC Los Angeles station KABC to assure fans that he was feeling well. "All I really want to do is tell you that I'm feeling great," he said. "I'm glad I spent that evening in the hospital. I figured that a little check up wouldn't be bad for me. And in fact, it turned out to be pretty good, it got me a lot of publicity!"

Lee attended the premiere for Black Panther, the latest Marvel movie, earlier this week. In the interview, he joked about attending the screening. "I'm always there, cropping up," he said. "I'm always helping, aiding, and assisting. I hope the world realises how much it owes to me!"

Lee's first break in the comics industry came in 1961, when he co-created the Fantastic Four with artist Jack Kirby, after years of struggling as a writer for a variety of publishers. In the following years he helped create such as now-legendary superheroes as Spider-Man, Hulk, the X-Men, and Iron Man.

In 2016, it was reported that a "period action adventure" movie based on Lee's life was in development at Fox. However, there has been no further news of this project since.

He and Dick Van Dyke almost make one's 90's look fun. Even with this scare those two are just so remarkably lucid and active. Hopefully we'll continue to see him camo'ing in the future :)

Van Dyke is a classic.  And Stan is very lucid.  We met him at Comic con this past month, and he was very responsive during his panel.  Unfortunately, he had to cancel a few appearances before that and the St. Louis Comic Con this weekend.  Understandable.

I feel as though he’ll probably pass within the next year or so. I have nothing to support it, but it’s just my gut feeling

He doesn't look 95 .

Great to hear, this man is a legend.

Not to sound cruel, but if anybody ever wished to see him in person at a convention or get anything signed by him should do so asap.

It does sound impersonal and selfish, but it makes a lot of sense.  Comic-con 2017 is where I met Lou Ferrigno, the original Hulk from the 70's and 80's.  He was the initial reason why I went, but as a bonus, Carrie Fisher was making an appearance.  I was a Star Wars fan as a kid, not so much as an adult but I still had a casual interest in it.  But as we all know, Carrie passed on at the end of 2016.  I did meet Peter Mayhew and Jonas Samoa.

So, yeah.  Meet Stan while you can.

That's awesome you got to meet Carrie Fisher and Lou Ferrigno, I can imagine that they were nice down to earth people.

I live in Canada so a few years ago (2016?) Stan Lee announced his that that was going to be his last visit to Canada at the Toronto Fan Expo so I had to go as meeting him anywhere else in the US would've been even more difficult for me.

A tip for anybody that wants Stan Lee's autograph:  The man does a lot of autographs so he does it quickly and signs anywhere that's easiest for him, so try make some sort of box around where you'd like him to sign or else he'll like sign big on the head of spider-man or something lol. (It didnt happen to me but to my friend and heard from others so I had like this cardboard that covered the entire comic book except for a rectangle cut out to where I wanted him to sign)

Let me clarify.  I almost met her.  Comic Con was in January 2017.  She passed on in December 2016
