this is false, ps4 and switch had months where they were super close in NPD so amazon rankings wouldn't really matter, ps4 destroyed xb in december yet xbox won by a nice margin. this year will be good proof if amazon is correct on switch since stock is good, not perfect, but itsa far cry from last year, where it was mostly sold out the whole month. there was another month where switch won on amazon but ps4 won, so 95%, not even close.

Amazon has only been incorrect 3 times since the start of this generation (2013 with the launch of the Xbox One and PS4).

xbone and ps4 cater to the same audience in the US, switch is totally different. all you have to do is look at the december amazon rankings, switch destroyed the xbox family, yet it out sold it by a very little.

Yes these meddling 'Sony fans'! Damn them!

...

...

When did this happen again?

Since March 3, 2017.

Stuff that happens in your mind doesn't count.

We are complaining about amazon now? When do we start COMG?

Apparently "Sony fans" have since March so nothing new.

It seems that the Sea of Thieves beta access for preorders did push the its sales significantly. Digital and physical are sitting at 392nd and 124th respectfully. I still expect it to do relatively well though and get back into top 20 near launch.

I think the problem here is the lack of understanding and being a little to uptight.

Having a discussion about the possibility of their being an offset in data on Amazon isn't an attack on any platform. What's being discussed is that there doesn't seem to be a perfect correlation between Amazon rankings and NPD data.

If you want to get upset over that then that's up to you. Instead of you and jranation's passive aggressive behaviour, why not join in the debate instead of persecuting a fanbase.

xbone and ps4 cater to the same audience in the US, switch is totally different. all you have to do is look at the december amazon rankings, switch destroyed the xbox family, yet it out sold it by a very little.

Amazon has never, and will never, be representative of how 'big' or 'little' a certain console wins by. It's just an indicator of who wins and that's it. As the poster you quoted pointed out, Amazon has only been wrong 3 times and even that is debatable when you realised 2 of those times was because of preorders. This is why I added the '*' for 'Does not affect this month'. These months become unpredictable because we can't know how many console are going to be added from previous months. Other than that though, Amazon is bang on.

If I was asking for racing tips to put money on a horse and a friend of mine was this accurate, I'd start wondering if he's got insider knowledge and taking out loans in order to up my bets.

if thats the case then you are ignoring reality, there is no way in hell amazon can predict small wins by 5-15k it was pure luck considering how big the market is.

Amazon predicted a win ... it won
