So it seems. The fact that some websites report as sold and others as shipped demonstrates confusion and if Nintendo had sold that much, they would clearly and unequivocally have said so. Other brands are more transparent when they have figures.

From a purely logical point of view there is no need to confuse if they have the advantage, in other words the only reason to make this unclear is cause they want to pass "shipped" for "sold to the public" and they are just playing on the confusion here.

So until clearly proven otherwise, it stands to reason to believe these are shipped units and it's up to Nintendo to clear this up.

Just go read the report and make your own mind then.

I'm confused. Great numbers either way, especially for Odyssey.

The arguing above is beyond me, I can't fathom it...
Anyway, Sell-through number probably tomorrow at the ir event.

it says 17.74m shipped by end of march 2018 https://www.dualshockers.com/nintendo-shipped-14-86-million-switch-units-2017-predicts-17-74-million-march/

Do you realise I just quote the numbers you gave and you quoted me back to correct the numbers you gave in the first place ?

and how are they planning to ship 5.5m for the next 3 months? they predicting to ship 17.74m ltd by march 31st. they already shipped 14.86 by december 31st so that means they planning to ship 2.9m for the next 3 months

An applause to kapi!

It's already happening

Nice to see Xenoblade sell those numbers. It' now an awesome, big boy franchise .

Bigger then Metroid likely .

Definitely reads like shipped to me but if Nintendo really has analysed all retail sales from around the world to give a sold through number what is the actual number shipped, even higher?

Fantastic news whatever it means the greatest game developer continues with rude health and has the money to plough into future gaming hardware and software.

Sadly at this rate my hope for a cheaper Switch at retail is less likely, they really don't need to reduce the price for commercial reasons although I'm sure there will be a hardware revision this year but it seems less likely they will have to lower the price of it. Probably just update it to use a better fabrication process and an actual custom Tegra chipset rather than the off the shelf chip of the current model.

Yeah, the chance that Nintendo would a game pack-in for 300/330 in the holidays is very unlikely now. They don't have any need to do it now.

It doesnt relly matter if it's shipped or sold numbers, its very impressive number in any case.

Indeed, above my expectations, I'd guess it's undertracked by around 1.2m on here.

 13.5m sold, 14.86m shipped?

Yeah, but remember, shipped-sold doesn't change really nothing, on same link on Nintendo cite we have Wii U at 13.5m and Switch at 14.85m, 14.85m is official number and people need to stick to it.

More newer franchises are bigger than Metroid now. It's a bit sad but it is what it is.

On a side note: Kun u zich Pokemon voor de Switch nu voorstellen? Dat gaat waanzin zijn. Ik voorspel gigantische hoeveelheden.
