Any word on sell through %

So far only from the UK sales I believe:

Split:

72% PS4
28% XBO

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=234484&page=1#7

Positively high ratio of Xbox players buying the game there.

WW you are probably looking at about 15% of players coming from xbox. It's just what you'd expect really.

Excellent news for capcom. This partnership with Sony has worked out beautifully.

Hope the new DMC and Megaman game turn out well too.

Can't wait for the eventual loot boxes to drive their stock even higher.

I actually hope this shows other companies, that you dont have to rely on loot boxing people to death to earn a profit.

I wouldn't have much faith in that if I were you. Looked very cheap and poor graphically. There are indie games made by one or two people with a limited budget that have more impressive graphics.

Hopefully they can touch up the graphics when they show it again.

This is what an AAA 2D platformer should look like:

I fail to see what Sony has to do with this. I've noticed this a lot that Sony fans try to take credit for third party developed / published games.

Sony made the platform monster Hunter is beasting on for starters. Then there's the massively successful promotional campaign they spear headed for it.

People used to say capcom were stupid to leave Nintendo because they did good advertising and localisation work for it in the West. Well Sony just took it to another level.

No, Capcom did. They were also responsible for the localization in the West, Sony wasn't involved.

All Sony did was sign an exclusive marketing deal. Next you'll claim credit for the success of Call of Duty as well lol.

I'm not getting into the argument about the value each company's contribution to the promotion.
But simply calling it 'an' (singular) exclusive marketing deal is pretty vague.

There were a series of Monster Hunter World commercials in Japan featuring a very popular Japanese actor, and they appear to be created by Sony:

Then of course you have the bundles, and custom consoles and controllers:

And other stuff like:

And cool showcasing at Playstation Experience.

All stuff Nintendo did with Monster Hunter as well.

It's still Capcom's game. They made it, they published it, they localized it.

Monster Hunter World has been made a lot more accessible to newcomers (just look at Projared's review), that's one of the reasons for its success. Again, that's Capcom's doing.

We still need to know sold-through numbers of course, it wouldn't be the first time Capcom completely overestimates their own games.

Loot boxes have never been about earning a profit.

OT: I'd say congrats but I'll wait to see if Capcom Capcom's this up.

Ummmmmm, most people actually said, and Im one of them, that Capcom should have a MHW version for Switch ready for launch alongside the other versions or at least within reasonable distance from the first version release.MH World would never flop, so it wasnt a stupid decision per se, but Im of the opinion that they are certainly losing a few millions in sales for not releasing on the Switch.I mean, a MH game is bound to come to Switch eventually, one that isnt a port of a port of an expansion, but still, its good to build your userbase early on.

But Ill be the first to admit that I didnt expect MHW to do that so well so early.Lets see how fast they can go through that 5 million units they shipped.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

This is what an AAA 2D platformer should look like:

Why does it have to be AAA?. I mean was Mega Man 9 and 10 AAA titles? No, they weren't. Nintendo made the Boxy Boy or whatever it was called. It was just cubes on a white background. I like the simpler look of the new Mega Man. That Kirby game has so much shit going on that its hard to focus on the characters.
