Forums - Gaming Discussion - Those of you playing Monster Hunter World, are you enjoying it?...Is it your first MH?

MH World is my first MH game, I´ve been playing for a few hours and still getting the hang of things, many tutorials and systems to learn, but it´s starting to click and yeah I like it.

I´ve been using the greatsword since I´ve always enjoyed heavier more powerful weapons, but it´s harder to get used to it here than in the Souls games imo.

What weapons are you using?

yeah, it's pretty good so far, about 20h in. my first MH ever also and playing with the twin blades. my only complaint is that I wish it had a bit more varied combos. Something like Nioh would be good enough.

but yeah, overall pretty damn good and addicting. will be quite a road to the platinum lol

My first time.
At first I found it very overwhelming as there’s just so much to learn and to do, then when you think it’s told you everything it throws more into it. However I didn’t let it get on top of me and im now absolutely loving it. The hub is awesome and looks amazing. But the actual world is just incredible, it feels alive and is so diverse it’s like a proper living eco system.
It’s been along time since I’ve been able to put 3-4 hours into a game in a single session but I done that easily today.

after experimenting with the weapons it’s the Insect glaive and bow that I like the most. I prefer to be a quick agile player that doesn’t hit hard but hits a lot with combos.

Already played Monter Hunter Tri on Wii. This one is so much better than Tri, I love it.

I use sword + shield because I like fast weapons (and some bouts of the bowgun for fun)  but I should try the insect glaive if it's a fast weapon.

Yeah give it a try. It has a couple of good features. One is that it comes with a insect thing that you can send out to harvest power ups off monsters then you call it back to receive 1 power up, either attack up, faster movements, health, resistance to staggering.

and you can also launch yourself in the air to do air attacks.

I've been playing since OG Monster Hunter on PS2. I've got about 19 hours logged into World now. Love it so far, the series has finally stopped stagnating and can move forward.

Watch me stream games and hunt trophies on my Twitch channel!

This is my first Monster Hunter.

I am loving it. About 20 or so hours in. Light Bowgun (I like the ranged movement and ammo choices). Games looks and plays amazingly on my X.

The crafting is addictive.

Anything that can pull me away from Elite Dangerous is a win in my books!
