Why oh why did you had to change the slot your GPU was? The less you touch the better! It's a basic rule.

But I'm glad for you to see that everything goes mostly according to plan. I hope you find a satisfactory solution for your sound issues soon.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Touching stuff and throwing out bad stuff and making everything better was the whole point of the project. So of course I'm going to use the chance of opening up my PC once a year for some quality of life changes.

I mean I still have to use a long knife to get out my GPU because that's the only way to open the plastic lock on the PCIE Slot. Would've been cool to not have to poke a knife in the direction of my mainboard every time I want to touch my GPU.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The Audio to LAN app works pretty well. I'm using Stardock Acoustic Bridge for it. It certainly has noticeable lag but if I had to guess it's no more than maybe 50ms. Which is absolutely fine for RL.

With that I'm pretty much set and can finally enjoy RL and any other game in all its glory.

Are you f*cking kidding me?! Why are you using a knife?! Have you ever heard of screwdrivers? Or better yet, an ice cream stick? For God's sake...

Anyway, I doubt changing the PCIe slot would give you better performance, which is what I was talking about.

Screwdrivers are too thick and sticks are too short. There is like one millimeter room between the cooler and the GPU backplate.

What moster cooler are yo... oh! You're using one of those Noctua with 140mm fans, right? They're huge.

Still, you should think about finding something else than a knife.

It's a server board and ASUS is claiming it's very resistant. I'm sure that includes knife stabs.

Try with a precision screwdriver. The one I have for my glasses is ~1/2 mm wide.

At that point is there really a difference to a knife?

If the knife works, it works. I used to use them in my more bogan days, even used them to screw/unscrew the mainboard screws.

Just don't complain if you slip and fuck something up. :P
