Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 flawed but GREAT ...

About 15 hours in. My favorite game on the Switch. Only thing is I wished the map markers made it easier to tell where you needed to go. Probably 1/3 of my times has been trying to figure out where to go.

Nice nopon accent you're pulling off, meh-meh. I definitely agree though. I've also had my gripes with it, but I'm really loving this game, putting a ton of time into this game. There's just a lot to love about it. The characters are fantastic, even allowing for some growth among the rare blades you get, the music is excellent, the combat system is very fun, and this world is just exciting to traverse. Sure, trying to get all the rare blades is really annoying, sometimes enemies pull off cheap instant kill moves, and leveling up some rare blades is a real chore (ex. being Ursula and raising trust), but this game is just so fantastic! One of the best RPGs I've played in a good while.

Yeah, probably my single biggest issue, aside from maybe Field Skills. If Mythra's Foresight was a gameplay mechanic identical to the first game's "See the Future" mechanic that warned of upcoming super-hits, the game would be better for it.

Yeah it's kinda weird that it's not. The game uses it in cutscenes on multiple occasions and I'm certain many people played XC1, so it wouldn't be such a foreign concept in this one.

I know, it would make perfect sense from both a story and gameplay POV, plus it's something the first game solved way back, so it's absence and the resulting cheap hits is a baffling design choice.

The same way Final Fantasy XIII, Metroid Other M, Paper Mario Color Splash, and DmC Devil May Cry are great but flawed games, sure.

Still annoyed when I put the game down after 230 hours I never got KOS-MOS. Love the game a lot but that still greatly annoys me. The RNG sucks balls.

I watched your youtube video. For me it is also relevant how many hours it takes to beat the game. I am not willing to pay more than 2$ for an hour of gaming time. So a game that takes 10 hours to beat I wont buy until the price tag is 20$ or lower.

Except they are not even a single bit close to Xenoblade 2

Holy crap, how many playthroughs?
