Not sure why we're even comparing Switch to PS4; not only is the topic Switch vs PS3/360, but expecting a portable to measure up to a console released just a few years prior in raw horsepower is kinda pointless. It's like saying "not a single game on Vita can come close to GTA 5/God of War Ascension/The Last of Us no matter how restricted it is." I mean, it's true, but it also goes without saying.

Because it was a discussion about allocating stuff to improve visuals. Switch doesn't have a game as of far which is so restricted it really sets itself apart from the exclusives on xbox 360 or PS3.  If it did this whole discussion wasn't here to begin with. The PS3 has some games like beyond two souls and the last of us which really allocated almost every ounce of hardware to maximise visuals. When a game utilises every ounce of the Switch the improvement will surely be very clear by just looking at a screenshot. But I haven't seen a game yet which truly sets itself apart.

I do see your point, and I agree that we definitely haven't seen the best Switch has to offer graphically so far. Still, as someone who's been playing on PS3/360 extensively since 2009, I still reckon stuff like Mario Odyssey, FAST RMX, and Kingdom Battle look noticeably prettier and more modern than anything on last gen, even if only moderately so.

highly subjective opinion there.

An opinion supported by the specs though.

yea the specs are more powerful, and 1080p is a big step up, but thats really switch all has room for imo, example the last of us remastered and uncharted remastered looks much better then anything on switch to by a nice margin imo.

They look great too me. Yes I am getting older and eyes are not as good as they once were. But graphics look good to me.

There no rule saying you have to use all the extra power just on more pixels; Mario Odyssey and Kingdom Battle are not 1080p for example. The extra power is also used to improve shaders, effects work, etc.

IQ is a major complaint for mario odyssey, many people have even called it ugly on resetera. Honestly IQ is one of the most important things when it comes to graphics, halo 4 at 1080p stomps doom  at 600p. It's much better to tone down effects and get clean IQ.

Halo 4 does not run at 1080p on Xbox 360 though.

As to the importance of IQ vs framerate vs detail, that's a matter of opinion that will naturally vary from person to person.

I do know what you mean, but not everyone values IQ over framerate, detail, or other priorities. Given the option, some people would choose 720p/60fps over 1080p/30fps, while others would pick 1080p/max settings over 1440k/medium settings.
