if its a hardware issue, then they will have a lot of repairs on their hands, if its something that can be fixed in firmware then no big deal.

No. PS3 is in good shape because of the blu-ray player right now. Longer term they may have an issue when blu-ray players are easy to come by and less then the cost of a PS3 by a substantial margin.

I think PS3 has more to worry about on the 3rd party side where many are complaining about how much effort it is to develop on PS3. That's really their only major issue.
