Sure, but a truly good game will remain a good game forever, just like it is for movies and music. Paying for quality shouldn't be scoffed at.

Of course, anyone who considers the price too high is free to wait until the price drops to what they consider an appropriate level.

We can wait. I'm sure by 2021 its at least 5 bucks cheaper.

The real problem is not the $60 ports.

It's that after a few years, just like most of Nintendo First Party games, it will remain at $60.

Its a game from a past system. This should not be priced as a Newly released game. As with any over priced game, if the consumer does Not buy it, the price will come down more sooner than later.
Nintendo has been doing this for years now, and their fan base still goes out and supports their habits. Don't buy the game and the price will be reduced before you know it.

I'm not even sure if the original was even $60 when it was brand new. I think I paid $50 for a day one purchase--crazy for a 2D platformer in the age of downloadable Indies.

I'm gonna buy it, tho. You know me.

I just bought the Switch and BotW to my son, and it is a great game. Then there is Super Mario but are there any other games to buy? Maybe that explains DK price?

Well, people wanted ports of all the Wii U games for the Switch, there is no reason to complain now. If the Wii U version costs $ 19.99 then buy that one instead and problem solved.
