I honestly would rather pay full price than 10 bucks for digital only.

I am already 100% digital on PC and Switch and now also XBox so my only physical games will be on PS4, where I don own a single downloaded game but when they offer a simulair service with the same value I will switch over to digital only, money > plastic cases

I think your taking the comment out of context. What Phil Spencer is saying with a service like Xbox game pass which is a subscription, it could really benefits from having story-based games. So let's say Microsoft get a studios to make episodic games like life is strange or Telltales Games. People could come back every month for new content. It wouldn't have to be a major release like Halo 6 and long wait time between new games or in this case episodes. Games like Halo and Forza would still have major release but there DLC could be tied to game pass. If Microsoft release free DLC for games that are on game pass people would come back to the subscription service.

I think you're similarly taking the comment out of context for whatever reason you think that I did.

Make his machine the home console for your account. He now has your Gold privileges, and access to anything you’ve bought digital, without you needing to be logged in. Now make your account always sign in on your X. Done. My brother and I share games this way. |
My cousin and I do this and it works for just about everything except certain DLC.
Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Doing will mean basing judgements on physical game sales will be obsolete... good.
I honestly see no value in this personally. But kudos for those that do.

Uhmmm... If this is good for consumers, if it becomes a success, then whats the problem?
I think its worth considering they might get more software revenue for this and maybe create more games. Ofcourse thats a best case scenario.

Microsoft sold me on the Xbox One X with this deal. Went out to Gamestop on Saterday, and picked up the X with a Play and Charge kit. Been playing Sunset Overdrive all week. If they stick to the promise of keeping all Microsoft Studios games on the service going forward, I will be subrscribed for life. Excellent move Microsoft.
