Forums - Gaming Discussion - VR is not a gimmick!

A friend of mine has that HTC Vive device and I spent an evening trying it out. Meh. Maybe it'll be better on The future but I wouldn't bother yet. And I just can't see myself playing anything with goggles.

In the state it is now it's just a "Gimmick" maybe in 5 years ago it might no longer be.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Prove it. Most people would be 3.8 billion (or more) people. So prove it. Prove that you've found 3.8 billion people that think VR is better than other types of gaming.

1. There are 7 bio people on this world

2. Most of these havnt used vr yet. But if we look at what the ones that have already tried it and look what they think about vr, we can (by using basic logics) assume that the others will likely feel the same. Its called extrapolate, also used in elections and proofed to be pretty accurate.

If you have expierence of people that tried high end vr and disliked it, share them. Or even better, link me some "reaction to vr" videos where people put the headset off and say "not that great" or "didnt add anything to the game" or "I wish I could play that game on my tv". Just link me those videos , like I liked here tons of videos proofing the opposite. If its just opinion and both are true, you shouldnt have problems with finding videos about it.

Ya the way it is being sold and presented currently it is very much a gimmick.

It’s nice that you like it, personally, I am not a fan. It all seems very niche, and unlikely to get the broad support it needs to truly develop in its current form. Too many cables, needs to be wireless, and the controls are still not good enough.

Also, dude, I think bringing up porn as a reason why a technology will be successful might be a sign you are watching too much of it. Just my opinion...

A 'gimmick' by definition is something that's only there to serve as a lure. 3D on the 3DS or 3D TV's or add-ons like steering wheels are gimmicks. In it's current state I'd say VR is a gimmick.

Bio? Why not bil for billion? Or just b?

And most means more than half, thus 3.8 billion, not all 7.6 billion.

And no, it's called talking out of your arse.

Where are the videos of people supporting your claims? Why are there just videos of first tryiers thinking VR is the future, but nobody (that actually tried it with proof on video) supports your opinion?

Something like this:

Well I'm one of those who didn't like it. Of course it had that WOW factor for couple of minutes. I bet 3D movies were The same when people saw them for the first time.

Fact is most people would find VR gaming for nolife nerds😂

What device have you used? What games? What did you liked and what did you disliked?

I'm not the one trying to present my opinion as an objective fact. I don't need anybody or anything to support my opinion because I never claimed it to be anything more than my opinion in the first place...

So if I say the Nintendo Switch has better graphics then the Xbox One X anybody that want to disagree to me have to ask at least 3,8 bio people if they think the same?
