I feel as if we’re hearing stuff like this from an elitist POV. I get that some won’t like the idea or won’t buy it and that’s all fine and dandy. But to make this product as if there’s some conspiracy $&%# behind it is asinine. Nintendo has messaged that this product is for kids and kids-at-heart. They’re history as a toy maker reflects this product. Why does there have to be a conspiracy theory behind it? Because they want to make money? No $&%# they want to make money like any other damn company (ie, Sony, Microsoft, Apple, EA, Activision, etc.). And even then, they create these products to enhance the use of the Switch and bring in audiences like children into the fold.

I’ve seen many toys that cost just as much, if not more at Toys R Us (ie, dolls, action figures, plastic cars, toy sets, LEGOs, etc.). Why does cardboard packaged with software warrant an asinine conspiracy theory? We might as well make conspiracy theories on PSVR or Kinect because they’re just as much add-ons to their respective consoles as Nintendo Labo.

I'm going to build a robot backpack.  I am going to wear said robot backpack.  And I'm going to pretend I am a robot.  And you can bet your ass that when I crouch to turn into a car I'm going to make vroom vroom noises.  Anyone who doesn't like it can kiss my giant robot ass.

Why not? I like that mindset. Do what you want. If you have fun with it, there's nothing anyone could say to you. Personally I don't think I can have fun in that way nowadays, sadly. Still, I'm more interested in the "How the hell these things work?". So... Maybe if I have some money to spend I'll buy the variety pack, but I'm not sure about it yet. I want to know more about Labo.

Yeah.  There are tons of people who would judge someone for playing videogames, or spending time posting on a gaming message boards.  So, people on gaming message boards criticizing others for the kinds of games they play is a glass house/stone situation.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about breakage, but this is going to prove really fun for me and my daughter. I just need to get her a pair of Joycons of her own.

Go back and read my #1 point, then read your post again "( I just need to get her a pair of Joycons of her own)". This is exactly what Nintendo wants. Cha-ching, (Another Joy Con sale)… Lol.

Strange thing to make such a poll about a kids accessory, don’t you think?! No idea why so many people try to write this creative and refreshing idea down. Especially those, who don’t have any kids, of course.

I have 2 kids. My son is a huge Nintendo fan. I've bought him at least 12 Amiibos so far and counting. He's crazy into Fortnite and breaks headphones like its nobodies business. lol. Believe you me, I can't wait till he's old enough to start buying his own games and game systems.

Umm im pretty sure Sony/Microsoft want people buying extra controllers as well.

The lengths people will go to make Nintendo seem evil is baffling.

Of course the goal is to make as much money as possible, but you have to think that some creators also sit around an chum ways to make consumers purchase additional units. Ala Microsoft Red ring Of Death. Ala cell phone companies that still use glass screens when here in 2018 you would think that they could come up with a better more durable cell phone/ Tablet screen alternative.

Even though you may not believe this, cell phones are made to be fragile for a reason.

Labo has zero standing in my decision to get my daughter Pink Joycons. That was going to happen anyway.

So in other words everybody does it yet you decided to make a thread singling out a single company?

This whole Labo thing is hilarious, some people are so triggered by something they have absoloutely no requirement to purchase, and complain about a childish gimmik.. aimed at children..

Personally think something that marries arts and crafts with computer games and imagination is a real sweet spot for the modern child, moving them away from just wanting to play the computer all the time, to building and decorating these creations, possibly in a structured quality time way with parents.

If you dont like it, dont get it, it for you dont understand it, its probably not aimed at you.

it is however aimed at families with young kids, like both of my sisters. Both of whom intend to get a switch kit so the kids can play with these sets, its a creative, fun, innovative idea for kids that absolutely hits the mark.

How that can be turned in to some kind of mockery/criticism of nintendo is beyond me.

[slow clap] well played, talk about click bait. I saw the video title and thought GTFO if Pachter actually predicted Labo i'm going to have to reevaluate my low opinion of the guy.
