Forums - General Discussion - Is my English really that bad?

You're better than alot of native speakers but one thing I noticed that's common with non-native english speakers is that they tend to capitalize words that they don't need to. You're being too correct in some ways.

Autocorrect on mobile devices as well as other languages capitalizing every noun.

The first one really sucks on Android. Windows Phone was way better with word recognition as well as setting the keyboard to another language and other things.

At the same time i'm against to much checking and corrections done by apps, you don't really learn anything that way. If i have a decent keyboard i wouldn't use any of it. I do look into a dictionary sometimes if i miss a word or something like that.  Wouldn't rely on apps to much though.

The english language is stupid. The stupid english language. Stupid is the english language. English language is the stupid.

You can put sentences in odd structures and it is still understood. Your english is fine, better than most people around me and I'm in the middle of Britain.

Hmm, pie.

Sometimes I wonder the same thing.
I feel really dumb when I make  grammar mistakse and only notice after some time.

Guessing typos don't count right?

Most you guys here can type English to a level that I'd wish I could of another language. My GCSE German is mostly forgotten.

Just don't for my sanity use an S at the end of millions when it's not needed. For example, X game sold 4 millions. < This drives me nuts. I've been noticing it a lot recently from people.

I agree! It's terrible when peoples do that.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I live in Georgia. Your English is better than most of the most of the people I know. My wife manages a housing complex and one of her tenants wrote her a letter that said, "Too whom my corners" (instead of "To whom it may concern").

You're doing just fine.

Your English level is higher than that of the US President so you're doing fine.
