It's no zero-sum game! While some of their audience have a limited budget, many others would buy the good indie AND the good VC games.

Take a look at the Wii U and 3DS rankings to see why you're wrong...

The big indies like Rocket League and Stardew Valley would still sell, but would something like Darkest Dungeon, Blossom Tales or Wargroove sell well? I doubt it.
