Because NPD does not release numbers, all our numbers come from PR statements and leakers.

So if there are several leaks with different numbers, which is the “right” one?

1) There aren't

2) Fake leaks get banned on ERA

So ps4 did 1.6mil+1.08mil 2.7mil in nov and dec and switch did roughly 2.25mil-2.3mil same time.

Not too bad.

X1 sold the most holiday with over 2.8mil. Interesting take

So ps4 won the holiday period. Good end to an overall good year it has to be said.

I'm not sure what to think about the XB1 numbers. Compared to the PS4 numbers they obviously look amazing, but then again being down almost 150k YoY while the XB1s was $199 for weeks (including Christmas), with the release of PUBG and the free PUBG copy with XB1X purchases for 2 weeks you'd expect it to not go down 150k YoY.

If you’re taking a 50-100$ price advantage, PUBG release plus bundles and the release of a new console, it’s still not something too impressive...true.

It mainly shows Sony decided to go for additional profit instead of sales. A bit cocky?! Maybe. But also understandable. They had reached their big PR goal already the month before.

Great signs for a healthy industry though. Great sales for everybody.

Nintendo won the holiday in Hardware sales, ps4 won most sold consoles, xbox won...

All 3 did good for different reasons. If switch had more stock and BF was $249.99 it would of probably won overall but thats a discussion thats pointless at this time lol

There will be spin as soon as we hear "world wide".

Anyway, great news for the new systems. The Switch is probably already over WiiU LT?

Literally nobody spun this in any direction, yet you still stand here with your fanboy paranoia as allways.

OT: Absolutly stellar numbers for... the 3DS. I was certain it will do sub 400k numbers this december, yet it blew away everyone's expectation. Switch and Xone performed very well, while Sony decided to take the profit route, and came in below expectations (I was expecting 1.2 milion+ for that).

I am curious to see how all 3 will hold up in the first 3 months. Can Sony maintain the statu of Q1 king? Will Nintendo steal it's thunder? Will MS make an amazing comebackand surprise everyone? Stay tuned.

Leakers in ERA have to be verified by the mod team/administrators so no fake leakers.

This means switch sales are overtracked on vg charts for the USA slightly or else the switch only sells 182,000 between 24th & 30th December.

I think the Europe sales need to be adjusted up though. Unless vgcharts has the switch bang on 4.8 million at the end of December because it should be just over that I think.

Sounds about right, post christmas drop is usually pretty big.

3DS is unexpected.

I think Nintendo just wants to keep it on the market just long enough to beat GBA.

Impressive since they only ran the 199 for a very short time with limited stock. Xbox had a 179 deal plus a 199 deal running for weeks. The Xbox was $20 to $50 lower than PS4 from Black Friday until end of Dec. That's just adding context to the data.

Xbox won the holidays despite not winning a single month.

Also any leaks on how Xenoblade 2 is doing compared to X? I know it has to be doing better than 1.

Actually, the PS4 won, but even then, the margin was minuscule. It's virtually a tie.
