I think it's a pretty neat concept for kids. I love DIY toys when I was a kid, and this cardboard + tech combination is intriguing. But the prices are really prohibitive. If they manage to sell it at that price, I'd pretty surprised.

My guess would be that they are testing a price point here. See if it sells. If not, then drop the price during the holidays. If so, then more profits for Ninty.

Yep, they're testing the waters. The concept is brand new and innovative, so it's hard to see how much you can profit on that.

I think it’s innovative and brilliant...definitely want to try this with my nephew (we always build the most amazing Lego robots and spaceships together). Of course I just want to sit next to him and watch him build it...... ;))

Basically toy like constructions augmented through Joycons

I'm gonna call them toy-cons for short

Nintendo actually called them toy-cons on their site.

Best case scenario i'm paying $60 for either a minigame collection or robot game, and $10/$20 for cardboard.

Thanks but no thanks.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

At that price those games better be major release caliber. The cardboard probably costs Nintendo pennies.

Conceptually it's kinda neat, but could also be a hassle for parents to put together if they don't want their kids to waste all that money.

I think i saw Project Giant Robot which likely wont come for Wii U anymore.

I think this is an intriguing concept, though not for 'the core gamer'. Sure it's for kids, though not only for kids.

Well, both my kids looked at it and got extremely excited. So I'll be an early adopter.

I certainly feel that this compares unfavourably to some products made by Lego, for example. They also had robots, and everything, but with much more programming capability, higher build quality (obviously, when compared to cardboard), etc...

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

LMAO at all these adults applying adult values and adult utility to a children's toy.
