Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Labo-ratory: VGC OFFICIAL Labo Thread (Vehicle Kit out now)

The more I see of Labo the more convinced im becoming. The software looks quite compelling and along with the creative elements I think it will become a hit. I reckon it will start solid enough in sales but really explode toward holiday season.

The software for each kit is a 1.2GB download

I'm pretty positive that Labo will be a huge hit. It will widen up the demographics, the appeal is very obvious, the price is fine, and I am very excited to see what kind of creations people may bring up.

would parents spend 60$ on products so easily breakable?

Parents spend far more than that on easily breakable toys all the time. The beauty of cardboard is its just as easy to repair.

Yes, duct tape can fix any cardboard that is out of alignment.  Problem solved.

Oh yeah, it only came to me that Nintendo doesn't intend to replace the current Switch hardware SKU for a good while considering how these cardboard peripherals are specifically designed to the dimensions of the original Switch SKU unless they want incompatibilities ... (a smaller Switch unit with non-detachable joycons are not an option this point so this will limit how far Nintendo can push down hardware prices)

Good for me. I dont want to be tempted in buying an XL like the 3DS xD

That's what I'm most excited for, to see the crazy DIY custom Toycons people come up with, the "homebrew" scene around that could be amazing.

The first look trailer of labo is over 12 mi views already. It might leap over BOTW if this keeps up.

I'm curieus to see how well this wil sell. It's like the NS in the beginning. I was like "Oh, i get it. This could be great for me" but i had no idea how it would resonate with the mainstream. Labo is looking the same.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Part 1 of a new video series showcasing the Garage feature where you make your own Toycon creations. Includes a bunch of new design concepts including an electric guitar and a lightgun shooter.

Looks like the creation tools are quite intuitive and well thought out.

Saw a banner for Labo in Target tonight. Shows release date, the two packs you can get, and the website for Labo. On display above the biggest selection of Switch games. Looks like the marketing is starting to get underway. I don't have cable or watch television. Has anyone seen TV ads yet?

I'm probably going to watch some unboxings of these to see what they actually look like in-person.
