Now that I think about it, it'd be pretty cool that people who bought Labo could play some Nintendo games (apart from Labo) in new ways. Fatal Frame's camera, Zelda's sword and shield... As an optional feature it'd be pretty cool. It has the added element that you actually crafted that new way to play.

Exactly, that'd be fantastic. I just hope that Nintendo make these little cardboard pieces compatible with some games. In that case I'm almost pretty sure I'll buy it.

It looks like the IR camera can only detect multiple points in the dark (robot, piano, house) but measuring distance can be done in lit conditions.

Sad but not unexpected to see that the moronic "$70 for cardboard" meme is still going.

I read fear when I see people use that argument online.  Fear that Labo will be successful and become another Brain Age for Nintendo.  Fear from Nintendo fans because Labo might take resources away from developing core games.  Fear from console fanboys because a successful Labo would make Nintendo billions.  From my point of view, if it's successful then maybe Nintendo can use that Labo money to fund core games like how Ubisoft used their DS/Wii shovelware money to fund core games on the PS3/360.

Nintendo gives us the whole box.

If you're just going to play with the box anyway, might as well get the best dam boxes in the industry.
