I dunno if I'd get this, but I do admire Nintendo trying something new, different and interesting. It's definitely a breath of fresh air.

Also, I guess that Project Robot did eventually become a game of some sort.

First hour: hey this is neat
Second day: I got carried away and tore the cardboard now i can't play the $70 game properly anymore

Those who complain are the "core" gamers who are acting as if Nintendo halted all development of Metroid 4 and Pokemon Switch for this, which is most definitely not the case! Don't like it don't buy it simple as that, no need to get so worked over what is more or less an optional peripheral.

True. Its just a bit confusing. Nintendo seemed to work hard on getting rid of the kiddy image. With their commercials featuring young adults. Them asking third party developers for more mature games. The sleek design of the Switch. Its just weird that they would draw attention to this game of all games. |
You do realize they want as many demographics as possible to buy their products, right?
Boys, girls, men, woman, kids, teens, young adults, middle aged adults, senior citizens, Americans, Europeans, Australians, Asians, etc.
Family friendly "casual" things like Nintendo Labo don't prevent people from enjoying mature "hardcore" games like DOOM, Skyrim, LA Noire, Bayonetta, Dark Souls, Wolfenstein, etc.
Nintendo wants to have the best of both worlds.

I don't know if you payed attention, but it's not just cardboard.
OT: So we're all in agreement that a VR headset Toy-con is incoming, right? Good.

Nintendo needs to get the durability of that damn cardboard right and the games have to be good as well. I think the robot game could be quite special but am not sure about the other one yet. I assume its just a mini game compilation?
