Cardboard DIY peripherals and a tech demo for $70/80 ? LOL

Looks like Nintendo's Wonderbook. Yikes.

True. Its just a bit confusing. Nintendo seemed to work hard on getting rid of the kiddy image. With their commercials featuring young adults. Them asking third party developers for more mature games. The sleek design of the Switch.

Its just weird that they would draw attention to this game of all games.

First impressions are important.  They wanted to make sure that "mature" gamers had a good first impression of it.  Then, once they were already on board, you do kids stuff.

Yeah, I'm starting to see past the cardboard. Bayonetta 3 is coming..Metroid Prime 4 is coming..........I'm feeling better.

Wonderbook was actually really cool.  The problem with it was that it was only available to a smallish subset of PS3 owners.  This one avoids that problem.

Kids are going to destroy those cardboard boxes very fast.

If the software is good then it's going to give this generation of kids legendary childhoods.

If the software is Wii-play-ish then it's going to tank and hurt the Switch. With that price, it has to be something special or parents are gonna feel ripped off.

I LOVE ICELAND!

The initial press coverage seems to be positive.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I actually have a really good feeling about this.

I mean, I wouldn't buy it myself, but as a kid I would have loved it, and it really has that blue ocean vibe I haven't gotten from Nintendo since 2009.

The fact that it's more hands-on and gets kids building and creating rather than just tapping a tablet screen all day will also be a big plus in the eyes of a lot of parents. In addition, it could really take off with STEM clubs and the like, the same kids (and even adults) who like making lego machines, mini robots, and other such stuff.

The user generated content people create from this will be insane as well, and much of it will go viral online and help push the Labo as a cool and trendy new thing.

If Nintendo play their cards right I can see this being the next Skylanders/Wii Fit. Looks like the Switch maybe have a system seller for Q1-2 after all.

$70 for cardboard?!?! Since this is marketed towards kids this is brilliant, they'll break the boxes in like 2 days. I'll wait for someone to post the PDF schematics on youtube.

"not for me"
Dah, it's literally for kids. What did you expect lmao.
