Is it seriously that good? I saw the trailer for the first one and it was bad enough to make me physically cringe. The second movie's trailers weren't any better

Yes. Toy Story 1 was too dark. Toy Story 3 relied too much on nostalgia and Lotso Bear was a retread of the prospector from Toy Story 2.

Yes, Toy Story 2 is the best of the trilogy imo as well, but I love all three.

Randy Newman‘s "When Someybody Loved Me" sung by Sarah McLachlan is simply brilliant.

Arguably the most touching ~3 minutes of the trilogy. The song should have Randy won the Oscar in 1999 but lost against Phil Collins‘ "You‘ll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan (an unremarkable song from an unremarkable Disney movie).

The first Paddington movie was a legitimately good movie. It's one of those movies that just makes you smile all the time and just makes you feel good because of how nice it is. The second one must be no different.
