It's cool that a LE is coming out, but I think I'm gonna pass on one this time. I'm kinda burned out on these. A standard copy is enough for me.

Out of curiosity, will I be lost jumping into this game without playing the previous seven? I looked on Wikipedia and it sounded like the games usually have the same MC, and was curious how narrative focused it is. The clip in the Mini Direct looked pretty appealing.

Knowledge of the mythology and some of the characters will give you greater insight, but you can absolutely enjoy Ys VIII without playing previous installments.

I highly recommend it :)
