What Monster Hunter is about? Hunting Monsters.

But in the grand sceme of everything, what I find fascinating about MH is that you have to find a way to kill the monsters. At the beginning you will fast realise that the gameplay is very different from other games and that one hit at the wrong time will cost you your life. Even when playing against very weak monsters.

So as you progress you get to know your movement, how fast you can be with the different weapons and you start to adjust your playstyle to the Monsters you face.

And it only gets more difficult and if you succeed you can see how great you improved. And then when you go back to the weak monsters you know exactely how they move and really see how much better you got.

GLad to see there’s more in depth on character creation. Is there a story to follow? Or is it simply; go kill this monster and move onto the next??

If there is, it's shallow, hollow and short. From my experiences playing the game and from what I hear it is just solely about killing monsters to get loot, use that loot to build armor/weapons and work your way up to harder and harder monsters.

Just think of it like being tossed into a manga where you join a guild and you are now a background character. You dont' go on some epic quest to save the world, or emotional sotry lines that do this or that. You just go to the quest board each day and grab a new subjugation quest every day.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, the one I played was very light on Story. But I heard this one has definately more.
But I would not buy this game for the Story itself, its really about hunting the Monsters.

Makes a lot of sense, that it would be the best selling.

For the first time, it's gonna be available on a lot of big platforms. And there's a lot of support behind it. The world would have to crash right on it for it to not happen,

If Monster Hunter World ends up being the best selling MH title ever, you don't know if that'll be enough for Capcom? Why? Because of the bigger budget?

Well, sooner or later they had to upgrade those PS2 era graphics anyway. The new engine is not only an investment in Monster Hunter World but also in future MH titles for PS4, Switch, etc.

 

I think Capcom will be happy with what seems to be healthy growth in the West.
