Second, a lot of people do these for attention. Emily Rogers is one of them. She made a lot of fake Switch rumors back in late 2016/early 2017. Its possible these people could be fibbing for attention. Its happened before.

What they are saying could be true, but just some things to keep in mind.

I don't think that contradicts, I mean we don't even know what the update is exactly, could just be maintenance. Even if it is demos/previews of upcoming games, they could just be for what was shown in the Mini Direct and maybe whatever they've got on Thursday. As for the Amazon listings, they could of been for games the February direct, or just a complete mistake.

And yeah Emily is far from gospel, but the Chrom guy definitely has a real source based on his Echoes leak of the amiibo functionality with screenshots and all.

I think this is what is going to happen.  Either this or a game for little kids.  From what I've seen over the years Emily Rogers has been a pretty good source.  I think she is saying two things.

1) Some small update will come out this week.
2) You're not going to want what is being offered, so don't get your hopes up.

Ah fair enough, it seems weird to me that they'd show a presentation even smaller than the 15 minutes one we got. Why not just save the announcements up for a larger Direct? :/

I've got a feeling it might be something they want to pull greater focus to and didn't want it to get overshadowed by bigger announcements.

If it is "Casual" as in a resurrection of the Wii series, somehow, i would be up for it! Loved Wii sports and Party, even Wii play had enjoyable parts, personally speaking. Absolutely loved the tank game. Pretty sure Wii sports/resort wasn't just loved by the casuals.

Per Emily Rodgers responses in the Resetera thread. I expect either a new attachment/add-on to be announced with a party game (think Wii Sports/Resort/etc.) or clarity on their Online Service for the year ahead.

Don't expect much more than that and don't expect major game announcements that effect the "core" gamer.

Yes, in line with what Emily Rogers said to expect.

What will be interesting now will be to see if Chrom and Emily Rogers were correct about a 'normal' Nintendo Direct coming in February, aimed more at Nintendo's core audience than the expanded audience this game is likely aimed at.
