Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who among Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony will have the most critically successful games this generation?

And for the sake of this topic "critically successful" means games with a 75+ metacritic, which is where Metacritic draws the line as "good".

There is of course the issue of what to do with Nintendo as they have a brand new console out right now, should we combine the Wii U and Switch libraries? Or since Nintendo seems to be porting everything over to switch from WiiU anyway we just count those ports as Switch games and call it a day?

Moving on to help you all make an informed decision I have compiled a list of last gen games by each of these companies for (360, PS3, and Wii). So check it out first and then we move on to where each of them stands this generation so far.

So last gen Nintendo and Microsoft were neck in neck, while Sony was far ahead with almost twice the number of games that reviewed well. But where does each one stand now? I'll list that in the following post, I just need to decide what to do with Nintendo...

Not Ms, its really between the big two.

Either or, won't be much difference between them at the end of it all.

Big two? Switch is selling better X1 since day 01. So if there is "big two" is Sony and Nintendo

Anyway, PS4 will have more 75+ games just because it has more games in general

Remember we're only talking about games owned by MS, Sony and Nintendo, not 3rd party stuff.

I am lost.

you say this generation and I'm seeing PS3, 360 and Wii? why?

and you are considering adding the WiiU games to the switch because they could all be ported over? if that's the case doesn't that mean the XB1 also has all the games from 360 and even the OG XB because they work on the XB1 with upgrades?

I'm lost.

That list needs DS and PSP games.

That's just for reference, this gen obviously isn't done so I listed the last full generation so people can see what kind of output each company is capable of in a generation.

As for Nintendo, I was just throwing out ideas as to what we should count as this generation for them? Is it the Wii U? or the Switch? or both?

No it does not. MS doesn't have a handheld so there can't be a comparison. This is a look at the console market only.

If you'd like to make one for the handhelds feel free to do so.

Sony, as they will have a significantly larger number of games, period.
