Forums - Sales Discussion - Switch > XB1 > PS4 During December In US - Greenberg (Confirmed, read OP)

They must not be including Switch in their "console share" calculation. Otherwise, it's impossible for Xbox One to have a higher market share than they had last year without PS4 selling less than 158k.

I am thinking XBO beat PS4 in December by a minimal margin but lost to Switch which he decided to leave out.

It could mean December share of the year as in the percentage of yearly sales coming from December is the highest in 2017 compared to 2016, 2015, and 2014. Who knows?

It can be literally anything lol, just ignore him.

Part of me thinks that Greenberg has become self aware that his past PR tweets were a joke and so he intentionally puts out a dumb tweet to troll the internet

This guy. Just tell us what you mean instead on intentionally misleading so it spreads over the Internet like wild fire.

That would put Xbox December sales above 1.3m if that's what he means.

Saw a pretty good theory (IMO) over at ResetEra: what if he's talking about the percentage of XB1 consoles sold in December compared to the entire year, and this December is the highest yet?

Which is a useless stat if true and used to mislead.

The xbox one was the best selling xbox in december and whole 2017 and PS4 was the best selling console which had letter P in the console name. Switch probably won. Switch also had the best selling Mario games on it ;)

I think Aaron Greenberg would have told us straight forward if they won. In NA all consoles probably did very well in December.

Looks like Xbox came in second place based on this.

I think the Voynich Manuscript made more sense than that tweet.

^ this is a pretty good theory.  It makes a lot of sense.  Very misleading, yes, but makes sense.
