Based on this tweet I have a feeling the number 1 selling console is either the Switch or PS4.

Was trying to just thank folks for supporting us and the incredible success following the launch of Xbox One X. But yes Xbox outsold PS4 in December for Gen 8 consoles according to NPD data, while Nintendo also had a great month as Switch had most overall units.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I'd say it has the be referring to revenue not console units, Which if so would mean Xbox One X has been a big success.

Does NPD track in terms of revenue or sales? And I find this unlikely given that the original Xbox One sold over a million units in December for $499.

They track revenue I believe which is why his statement makes complete sense.

Could be possible. But if the Xbox One did so well as to top the revenue it got in December 2013 (when it sold for 499) and still lost, then the PS4 must've absolutely been even more staggering in terms of sales.

What does that mean????? I don't get it but I highly doubt that Aaron Greenberg is lying because that will just make him and the whole Xbox brand look bad, so it has to be true, but what does that mean??

Right, but they also sold a $500 console for December, and it was their only Xbox One console. This really doesn't make sense XD.

And if they only had the highest revenue, then the statement is simply false.

Greenberg is known for spinning things up. I'm pretty sure NPD results are out in a couple hours, so I'll be scouraging resetera to see what I can find.
