I don't think it will due to the Switch version, and I don't think the reported numbers on DQ include Digital do they?

if we add more 500-700k of Switch version i think it will be very hard to surpass DQXI.. not impossible.

If it maintains a 21-22k weekly baseline throughout the year, it'll reach 3 million by the end of 2018.

So, in the long run, I think it will end up passing both the PS4 and 3DS versions.

I'm confused. I thought DQXI on 3DS and PS4 were basically entirely different games with the same story.

Exactly. Not to mention sales spikes from higher HW in some weeks and the fact that Switch baseline will be higher than it is now. And... there’s still the holiday season to get some extra sales. I will not be surprised if Splatoon 2 hits 3.5m (with digital) this year.

They're the same game with different approaches, the PS4 version is similar to DQVIII while the 3DS version is similar to DQIX only without the multiplayer aspects.

Yes and it's crazy to see so many Switch games getting boost during game launches. So I think Splatoon 2 will have a great boost at the release of Kirby.

Are you sure it's really the same game? Looking at screenshots, they look like entirely different games built in the same world with the same skeleton.
