You all must hope so. Everybody gets tired of smoke and mirrors. And not even hype can last forever. Meanwhile only have 2 meh first party games and some 3rd party uninteresting choices.

I think the biggest issue with your points is this : If you simply change the criteria from just a shortage of software, to a shortage of original content, the entire basis of the lineup changes drastically. Which, I would say is pretty important. Sure, there is technically software coming out, but none of it is selling consoles significantly nor is it adding a lot of value to the system that wasn't there before. I might not include Kirby in that point, but that's one game in six months. As I believe I said earlier(I don't know, this might have been a sentence I deleted) nearly every console with a bad lineup has had SOME kind of software releasing in a given month, meaning there is from a technical level no drought. Yet you still hear of these consoles having "droughts" or bad lineups. The Xbox One doesn't get a pass for it's incredibly poor software lineups, I don't know why the Switch should with even less content. I guess if you want to be incredibly literal there isn't a shortage, but at this point you are dissolving that definition so much that simply rereleasing whatever is in Shigeru's  cavernous closet would discount that definition. And by that time, it wouldn't even matter whether a literal shortage exists or not, because the lineup, which is what matters at the end of the day, is already badly effected.

You counter my point about the ports by saying that sales do matter, which I agree with, but what is Hyrule Warriors going to sell? 1 million? Bayonetta 2? Probably 1 million? Tropical Freeze? Maybe 1 million? That's great from a profit standpoint but that's not what we're talking about, none of those games would sell consoles significantly and they'll probably end up being decent additions to the library but nothing more. They don't need to sell that well to make a profit, but they certainly aren't saving a lineup.

You make the point that "It's always important to separate what you personally want with the actual strength of the lineup". If that's what your argument is going to be for why I'm wrong and it is more than a mediocre or bad lineup, than i'd respond in a few ways. First, the strength of the line up is literally just "decided" by the consumer base. It's just a shit ton of opinions mixed in together. The basis for what is a strong lineup is just an opinion. Secondly, I guess I can see what you're getting at, but the thing is that IS what i'm kind of doing. I love Bayonetta 2, it's one of my favorite games. And from what I've played, Tropical Freeze is one of the best games this gen. Hyrule Warriors I wanted to play and never got to. And in the last reply I said I loved ports because they make purchases and gaming more convenient. I don't have my Wii U anymore. Again, my biases would make me love those ports. But you know what's one thing I don't like? A weak lineup. And ports don't stop this from being a weak lineup. So you could say "just remove what you want from your judgement of the lineup", but without expecting anything in a lineup there would be no basis of measure to call it good or bad. It's pointless, almost nonsensical, but I see what you're getting at.

Again, I'm not even sure why I'm discussing this. You're not going to be convinced, i'm probably not, etc.
