Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo holding everything back for end of 2018 ??

the narrative has changed from "theres no way the Switch can have shortages, they have all 1st party developers on board" to " You cant expect the first half of 2018 to be good, they gave us so much in 2017!"?

I think theyll announce two big games for the first half of 2018, and of thats the case theres no issue, but if this is the actual lineup im not going to act like its good because I like the Switch

You guys do realise there is third party games that come out in 2017 that are worth playing right lol?

Get FIFA, Doom and NB2K18. All good games for those who only have a switch.

So early in 2018 and Nintendo is already doomed.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Doom and gloom. Nintendo is back

This was a Nintendo Direct Mini.
Maybe, there's a possibility they are not going to announce the entire lineup in it.

Who knows.

No way!

No seriously, dude (OP). Metroid Prime 4 isn't coming this year. Pokémon isn't coming this year. Bayonetta 3 isn't coming this year. That much is obvious, and the sooner you accept it as a reality, the less frustrating it'll be when it happens.

I think Nintendo's second half of the year lineup is basically going to come down to Fire Emblem, Pikmin 4 and some other unannounced game that could be Smash Bros. or Animal Crossing possibly. And maybe Retro's game, which is a new IP.

Then next year we get the other one out of Smash or Animal Crossing, as well as Prime 4, Pokémon and Bayo 3.

First I dont think we will have Metroid Prime or Bayonetta 3 this year but again its not like there no chance those games will be released this year. Pokemon is definitely possibilite because Nintendo itself said they will try it to releases it in holiday 2018. and its slated like possible 2018. release.

Nintendo yet needs to start showing 2H of 2018. Switch games, I mean probably they diddnt annuced hole 1H lineup of Switch games. Nintendo have much more potential games for 2018. than just games that you mentioned, including Retros game, Next Level Games game, new IPs, new exclusives, more Wii U ports.

Games like Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Retros game, new IPs, new exclusives...can be easily be this years games not next years, fact they didnt show them now in Mini Direct dont change nothing.

But even with currently announced lineup there are no shortages.

I also expecting that we will still get some strong game for May-June release, maybe Smash Bros.

I don't recall nintendo ever saying they are pushing pokemon for 2018.

Similar threads were made last year. They only have Zelda and that's also on WiiU, street fighter bomber man/arms that are nothing till splatoon 2...and tss MK8 Deluxe does not count it is just a port =p

They basicly said in June 2017. "it may want be released in more than a year", and Nintendo listed it like posible 2018. release while for Metroid Prime 4 its just TBA.

Happens every time a direct happens. Always lots of doom threads.

You have your haters that just hate and you have the few people who expect the direct to be an E3 and are let down. It's best to just ignore those people.

There's no shortage.  Nintendo alone is publishing five major games in the first half of the year.  That's the same pace as last year.  Faster really than the Switch's first several months.

While it's true that there are ports in there to fill in the gaps,

So.......... ports to fill gaps ..... a shortage, pretty much.

I was going to write a comment arguing why I don't find this reply very well thought out(and to be clear I think the 1st year had a pretty weak first half as well, but at least then the console launched two months into the year .... so ..... that point is kind of poo poo) but then I realized it does not matter. I think they have one or two games up their sleeve, we'll just have to wait for the hopefully good full direct. Then we can see what they have laid out bare naked.
