No, this are not all Switch releases in next 6 months.

Are there likely to be much more announced because as of now there isn't much coming?

It was alright.

Have to double dip on Ys VIII.
DKC Tropical Freeze is a buy.
HW is a buy.
TWEWY is a buy.
Kirby is a buy.

Dark Souls, are kidding me? A buy!

How good is dktf? Never got a chance to play it... they said it was really hard

Best game on Wii U. The core game isn't that hard, but not exactly easy either, but they have extra stages which are quite difficult. If you liked Donkey Kong Country Returns (I personally thought it was decent), you'll love TF because it improves on it in every way. It's also basically possible to adjust the difficulty based on who you pick to play as (or pick as your partner if you're playing solo), since Dixie makes the game easier and Diddy makes it harder, for example, due to the abilities they give you.

I strongly doubt there will be any other big games for the first half, they would've announced them already. Kirby and Donkey Kong are both fairly big games, so I suppose that they found this sufficient to keep the Switch going until E3.

I might double dip on Hyrule Warriors since everything is there and it’s easier to boot it under Switch than having to set up my Wii U again. DKC:TF probably not, but if this can help get more people to play the game then by all means.

TWEWY is a nice announcement. I haven’t played it myself but I hope more people get to play it since from I can remember the game didn’t necessarily set the world on fire with it’s sales despite being a highly acclaimed DS game.

Ys VIII and Dark Souls are “buy” for me since I never played them before.

Liking Kirby Star Allies more and more.

Mario Tennis Aces looks interesting at least compared to Ultra Smash.

Overall, it’s a mini Direct. Not bad. It’s not gonna suddenly bring in 20 million more people to buy a Switch, but that’s not it’s purpose. More announcements will be made in due time.

I believe this direct just covered Spring.

Nice, i’m getting Hyrule Warriors for my Switch and Dark Souls for PS4.

Now all we need is Wind Waker HD & Twilight Princess HD and we can forget the Wii U even existed.

God no. You want Twilight Princess on the GC, Wii, WiiU and the Switch? The exact same game across FOUR generations straight.

I would hate that to happen and be successful. Spend more time releasing all your old arse games. It makes good money.

Please, nothing personal but I would hate that.

We cant know how much more announcements we will have, but definitely this are not all announcements for first 6 months of year, for instance games like Doom, Mario Rabbids, Rocket League, Pekkemon Tournament, Bayonetta 1/2...are announced only 2-3 months before launch. We will most likly have another full Nintendo Direct around March-April with new announcements same like we had in 2017.

So for first party games...

February - Bayonetta
March - Kirby
April - Hyrule Warriors?
May - Donkey Kong
June - Mario Tennis?

They focused on the first half of the year for first party content so late 2018 games / release dates will probably be revealed at e3. We know Fire Emblem and Yoshi are coming this year, with Pokémon and Metroid hopefully 2018 releases as well. Looks like they are trying to put out one retail game per month (which was pretty expected) but I'm a bit bummed by the number of remakes - Bayonetta, Donkey Kong, Hyrule Warriors and Dark Souls.

I'll buy Hyrule Warriors because I've skipped that on Wii U and 3DS and maybe Mario Tennis.

In terms of first party content probably not. They'll release one game per month for the first half of the year, anything more and the schedule would get too crowded. Third party is possible of course.

By the way, what happened to that whole paid online thing? Wasn't it supposed to be launched already?

They did say early 2018. That could mean that there will be another time before Spring to show/release it. But im glad it is not near yet.

I'm also glad that we don't have to pay yet, but I'm really curious to see how it will work. I think it might replace the Virtual Console.
