Forums - Nintendo Discussion - FIFA 18 Switch sold 73k in France, EA very satisfied, new announcements are coming

73k in France is very solid, that's almost 10% of Switch owners buying the game as has been mentioned (factoring in digital will obviously bump that number too).

It's probably passed 300-400k worldwide, which is decent. Good for EA, I've heard it's a solid game. Maybe this opens the door to NHL 19.

And in Japan Fifa is doing good.
It's weird to see third party support on Switch with sales.

how much did this game sell on other systems?

In France, FIFA 17 sold around 1.6 million copies when FIFA 18 released in 10 months. It's traditionally considered the best-selling game here.

Don't bother, EA. You just lower the quality on any console you support.

Switch is passing every test with flying colors. Third parties have no excuse anymore.

That means they won't need microtransactions anymore?

Yupp and just to show their gratitude they are porting SW:B2 for the Switch for 20$ with a normal progressing system! You heard it here first!

OT: good news. It seems that the results for pretty much every 3rd party and indie dev are miles ahead of evrything the WiiU managed.

Again you don't make any sense, who said you disagreed with me!? Again, your initial post doesn't really matters because my point wasn't why people thought that Fifa bombed on Switch, but point that they did thought only beacuse UK and that they were wrong. You basically keep arguing without any reasons.

I said this

"I think people got that idea because the switch version only accounted for about 3% of sales. Ps4 version dwarfed it making it look bad even though relatively it did alright."

Of course that matters. It wasn't disagreeing with you and was adding more context to the situation as to why people thought it bombed. I didn't say that they were right or that you were wrong.

What I said both makes sense and matters.

I for one appreciate that bit of context, even though I wonder what people were expecting from a platform of 3-4 million going up against a platform of 65+ milion. OF COURSE PS4 would have the better sales and be more front loaded comparative to the Switch.

Yes, 3% to 97% seems like a huge split, but hardwarewise the switch only had about 4% of the installbase of the PS4 at that point. This is also were the 'it was only the UK' thing comes in, screwing the results a little more in favor of PS4.

Actually Famitsu numbers are selling that Fifa on Switch is selling better than Fifa on PS4 in Japan.

Only France+Japan numbers are around 150k, if only in France only is 73k whitout digitial sales, we can assume that in rest of Europe (Germany, Italy, UK, Spain...) is around 200k+ with digital sales, so we can assume that Fifa was already around 400-500k at end of December world wide.

These are very decent numbers when you put them in the perspective of how third party titles have done on later Nintendo home consoles. The highest selling Fifa on a Nintendo home console is currently Fifa 11 for the Wii at 1.08 million. I think the Switch will get a Fifa that beats that eventually.

With Japan and France alone, it's at ~150k.
