Sure they aren't the same thing, ok then. If you think console is dying all the power to you.

I wouldn't use the word "dying", I'm just pointing out to the posters below and others that PS4/X1/WiiU is likely down launch-aligned compared to PS3/360/Wii.

The WiiU collapsed and died and the X1 is down compared to the 360 according to http://www.vgchartz.com/article/271185/xbox-one-vs-xbox-360vgchartz-gap-chartsnovember-2017-update/ .

If my math is right, launch-aligned, the PS4 is ahead of the PS3 by about 22 million. Impressive but not enough to make up the fall from the WiiU and X1.

100 million will be easy. Remembering when people said consoles are on the decline xD

LOL, I remember a few "Well, if this how bad the Wii U is doing, just imagine how bad the PS4/XBO will do" comments back in 2012/early 2013. How things change.

Penny for your thoughts?

X1 have been able to keep up with X360 for most of the time, and as you said PS4 is ahead of PS3.

So yes, PS4+WiiU+X1 is under PS3+Wii+X360, which doesn't mean the market have shrunk, just mean the one time owners of the Wii were just that.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Is the Wii a console? Yes or no?

Yes. So since Switch isn't a console we can say gen 9 nuked and have 0 sales?

Yes.

Thus it is part of the decline that occurred when going from Wii/PS3/360 to WiiU/PS4/X1.

The people who bought a Wii may not have returned. There's also a chance that people who bought a PS3 or 360 have also not returned.

People who were once there are there no longer. No amount of mental gymnastics will change that.

If the Switch isn't a console, yes. Gen 9 has utterly bombed! So has gen 10, gen 11, and so on since sales are currently at zero.

Gen 12 consoles can probably time travel so they might have a few sales already.

Ugh! What a gimmicky feature.
