Forums - Nintendo Discussion - RUMOR: Looks like Pikmin 4 will be featured in the upcoming Direct (Probably Fake)

I'm a NF subscriber. They never have a breaking news story. It's a bi-monthly mag. They are a month to 2 months behind in news when they publish it.

I kinda hope not. Pikmin's a low-tier priority for me that I probably don't purchase. Same goes with Kirby, Yoshi, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon which are heavily rumored/confirmed to be this year. That would be a large chunk of the big games for this year that have no interest for me, leaving me with only Fire Emblem which is only mid-tier interest.

I'm still hoping that some of the announcements are more in my taste like so many were last year.

All of those franchises are low-mid tier for you, so which Nintendo IP are high tier?

Why would a small fan magazine know the content of a big Nintendo Direct. Use some common sense people.

What is this common sense thing you're babbling about? :P

Translation: I will always hate Fox for canceling The Exorcist.

Also, wasn't Pikmin 4 very close to completion already back in what? July 2015 or something according to Miyamoto?

It seems like Pikmin 4 got shelved along with Miyamoto.

It really seems to be what happened lol.

Pikmin 3 was the best.

About time they show that!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Very curious to see what the new direction is conceptually rather than aesthetically.

The series is clearly one the most quirky and unique from a gameplay, story, and character standpoint. It made a big splash on the GameCube in terms of hype and then never reclaimed its glory thereafter.

So the question is do they revamp the entire structure? I think yes.

Do they highlight single or multiplayer? I think Single as the Switch hasn't demonstrated the social gather elementt of the Wii-era games. But if they continue to make it a single player experience how will they make it more accessible. Usually Nintendo makes drastic changes when a series starts to go South. And we've seen drastic changes to both Zelda and Mario...

I played Pikmin 1 & 2 on the Wii, using the pointer. It was so good, and I can't go back! :(

I tried Pik 3 on the WiiU, but couldn't do it. The game just wasn't the same. What Am I gonna do!!!!! :o

Take advantage of the fact that Pikmin 3 supports Wiimote pointer controls, perhaps?
