Can people please stop making things up?

Why? His opinion sound pretty realistic to me

Pokemon is not the only huges sales driver they have left.

Pokemon is the last huge sales driver Nintendo has to release in the near future. Its hard to imagine them keeping pace with none of the big AAA games launching on their console. Especially at a 299 price point.

Make what up lol. I didn't state anything as a fact just what I think will happen.

You are like the 4th person who has said Pokemon is their only system seller left.

Smash, 2D Mario, 2D Zelda, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing all have varying abilities to move systems especially in combination with more B franchises. While Pokemon is a big console mover, it is far from the only one. There was a point when people did not view Zelda as a system seller (despite it always having been for Nintendo systems) and now people are acting like it is the only game that it selling this system (despite games like Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Odyssey, and Mario and Rabbids in certain regions in Europe corresponding with hardware sales bumps). In addition, Nintendo can reduce price should momentum drop. There is also the point that many prior Nintendo systems have done fine without every AAA western game that launches on the other systems, because they have their own unique libraries. Of course, many simply forget that and just point to the Wii U, which had many other problems outside of the lack of AAA titles (like Nintendo themselves making more games on 3DS than Wii U, the marketing strategy with the system in general, etc.).

Now PS4 has certainly 80-90% of the console market in Europe, so Vgchartz always overestimate the sales of xbox one in Europe and the numbers of last week (only 2: 1) are really ridiculous.

Already posted in the other thread, but if you're gonna post it here as well... "continental Europe". Read your own source next time maybe

Around 40% of Xbox's European sales come from the UK, which isn't included in "continental Europe" so...

The answers simple  IanSolo is ahead of the game and moved the UK to the rest of the world, most likely the  day after the brexit vote.

Or like the user that had Switch doing 1.6M on last week because he summed the total to USA+EU+JP because he thought it was the others.

Something about Nintendo doing well always riles people up. Same happened during the Wii/DS era lol

Trust me when I tell you that all those thing you mentioned (especially in bulk) doesn't cost nearly as much as most seem to think they do.

A japanese company tore down the NS and gave their own estimate of everything involved in making the NS and they arrived at $257.

But that company isn't even taking into account whatever kinda deals nintendo may have made for the parts or components used. Eg, they have the joycons priced at $45 on tehir own to make. Not a chance in hell thats accurate when like I said an entire fully working tablet complete with cameras and sensors and processors and screen costs around $50 at RETAIL. So can you imagine how much it cost to make that?

HDMI cord? Cents en masse, dock? Have you seen inside the dock? Do not let its size fool you.

Estimates have it pegged at $250.... I am simply saying I am sure it costs even less than that. Nintendo could have sold the NS at $250 and broke even. But Nintendo will be Nintendo..... and don't even get me started on the prices of their accessories.

Contrary to what nintendo or some of its fans would have you (or most people) believe, we aren't living in a tech vacuum. You wanna have an idea of how much the NS costs? just look around at all the tech already out there.

And lets even assume you are a complete failure of a company and you will not make a dime from sales of software and accessories so you must make consumers pay for your marketing; and we add $10 marketing subcharge to each console sold.... with 10M sales thats $100M. and that still doesn't take the console up to $299. Nintendo just priced the NS as they did cause as they always do? they knew they would get away with it.

Such estimates are notorious for lowballing the real costs. For example, in 2011 the 3DS was estimated to cost ~$120 to manufacture. When Nintendo told investors that the price cut to $170 would result in the system being sold at a loss, you'd think that can't be true based on the estimates. But Nintendo's financials made it clear who has an idea of what they are talking about.

If estimates peg Switch at $250, then you can be sure that the real costs are higher than that.

What we should remember is component cost is just one part of the full cost of a console and  even if that fanciful $120 was close to true, parts need assembly, packaging, shipping etc that add to the bottom line, so that $170 figure might not preclude such a figure by as much as we think it would.

I think Nintendo could really benefit by opening some development studios in Europe and have the developers make IPs that appeal specifically to them, because they have Japan by the balls and they're gaining more and more momentum in North America, but there's a lot of work to be done and a lot of room to improve in Europe.

Not even sure if that would work out. I talked with quite a few Wii U owners in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and France and the consensus was that the Switch is perceived as a downgrade from the Wii U. This comes because Europe isn't much into mobile gaming, so for many there the portability aspect is wasted. And for a mobile console, they feel that the 300€ pricepoint is just too high, especially with it's perceived short battery life.

In other words, it's everything but the games that's holding the Switch back in Europe - though a Fifa on par with the PS4 version in content might help.
