I liked DK64 a lot so I would not mind to see an entry like Odyssey for Donkey Kong.

I am sure that a 2D DK is at the moment in development. So I wouldn't mind to receive both.

Nah, I want Donkey Kong to continue the Country series.Nintendo can and should push that game foward, giving it the same treatment Odyssey and Zelda got.

I don't see why they can't do both. Mario is maintained as both a 2D and 3D series (amongst others) so given the right direction there is no reason DK couldn't work as both. DK Odyssey is something that could work.

I would like a proper sequel to the original Country series.

Erm... not Donkey Kong Country Returns?

Or do you mean a game where Dokney Kong, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong all get kidnapped, and its up to Kiddy Kong and his pal Baby Kong to save them.

No, I want a new iteration of Diddy king racing!

I mean a full 2D title using 3D rendered sprite work.

Donkey Kong Country returns just feels "off" to me compared to the original RARE trilogy which has stood the test of time in my opinion, plus I would have preferred they made a 100% original sound track, didn't have motion controls (wii) or 30fps (3ds).

DKC is one of my favorite series ever. I think they the open world, 3D approach wouldn't be the best opportunity for the series.

However, I think if they applied the Super Mario 3D World approach to Donkey Kong that would be a good option.

No one liked Donkey Kong 64 even Rare hated it. So we already got DK Odyssey. DK is a series best as 2D.

I loved DK64, so speak for yourself.  I would buy a Switch successor to that DAY ONE!

I know I am not alone in this either...

No thanks. Donkey Kong 64 was a huge disappointment. 2D Kong games are far superior.

I have a theory that Retro Studios is working on a 3D Donkey Kong game. They definitely aren't working on Metroid Prime 4 and it doesn't take all these years of us wondering what they've been working on for a 2D Donkey Kong game. It wouldn't surprise me at all if when Retro Studios does pull the curtain what they've been working on for the past few years, it's a 3D Donkey Kong game! Here's to hoping!

Nothing tops DKC 1 and 2
